Networking expert Mark
Kalmbach oversees
Willigent systems
engineering activities related to the Invisible Fence System's Network
Operations Center, as well as NOC
interfacing
to current customer installations. He also oversees IFS integration
and deployment activities.
Kalmbach brings more than 20 years experience in wireless, satellite and data communications—including extensive understanding of TCP/IP networks and protocols—to
Willigent. He has led sizable teams in the execution of wireless projects for
PanAmSat
(NYSE:PA),
Intelsat, the U.S. Space Command, and the
Marine Corps Tactical Systems
Support Activity.
At PanAmSat, Kalmbach managed large field engineering projects involving
hundreds of POPS for the company's satellite Internet
"overlay network" project. His hands-on experience integrating, testing, and performing sophisticated measurements of wireless systems in the field and
the lab is of special benefit to Willigent.
Kalmbach earned a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif., and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (with emphasis on digital communications) from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD.
