DMITRI ZABALOTNOV
Principal Scientist

Zabolotnov is an expert applied mathematician who developed algorithms IFS uses to determine location and/or velocity of an acoustic signal source. His collaborative work includes research on direct methods for solving large-scale sparse linear systems of equations that resulted in practical applications. He computed stresses and strains in aircraft engines using acoustics at Tupolev, Russia’s oldest aircraft design bureau, and used acoustics to measure strains and stresses in materials at Central Aero & Hydrodynamics Institute in Moscow.

Zabolotnov earned an applied mathematics degree at the Moscow Institute of Physics & Technology and an economics degree from Russia’s State University Higher School of Economics. He completed postgraduate training in mathematics at the USSR Academy of Sciences.
